The Miva Merchant Development Team is always working to enhance Miva Merchant. As improvements are made and new features added, you will be the first to know.
The specify when Miva Merchant should check for updates, go to Domain Settings/Upgrade Settings. There you can specify how often you want to be notified of new updates — at every login, daily, weekly, or never. You can also review any previously installed updates there.
To see if there are any updates, or to download and install updates that you elected to skip or be reminded of later, start the domain-level Upgrade Wizard. If there are updates, you will be able to install them. If not, the wizard will say "No new updates are available for Miva Merchant. Your copy of the software is up to date."
Getting and installing these software updates is simple and easy. When you log in to Miva Merchant, if updates are available, the dialog box shown below will appear. If you choose to install the updates, everything is transferred and installed for you, using Miva Merchant Streaming Update technology.
Streaming software updates will not affect store customization or any third-party modules you may be using. In most cases it will also be possible to roll back to the pre-updated state.
Choose one of the following options for updating your software. To read more about each update before installing, select Review and Manually Select Updates for Installation, and click Continue. From that screen you can click Previous and return to the original four options.
Select this option to update your Miva Merchant software with the latest version. When you click Continue the updated modules will be installed for you.
If you prefer to read details on each of the available updates, and select only the ones you want to install, choose this option. When you click Continue you will see a list of updates, each with a summary of the issues that are addressed by each one.
There is no risk in choosing this option. It is a convenient way to view the information on each update. If you like, you can then return to the first screen (the one shown above) by clicking Previous, and select any of the original four options.
When you select all of the available updates, the result is the same as if you had chosen Automatic Installation. If you select none of them, the result is the same as if you had chosen to Skip These Updates.
If you do not have time to deal with updates at the moment or just want to think about it, you can elect to be reminded tomorrow. Select this option, click Continue, and when you log in to Miva Merchant after 24 hours you will again be presented with the same set of options.
If you do not want to install these updates now, select this option. In the future, when additional updates become available you will be notified. At that time any past updates that were skipped will be included in the list of available updates and can be installed then.
